Rob Knott
Rob created Dreaming with Lumi after thinking about the thoughts adults so often carry to bed: tomorrow's responsibilities, work, money, fear and the unfinished business of the day. He wanted to recover the comfort of a bedtime story without asking grown-ups to leave their curiosity or emotional complexity behind.
He writes and produces Lumi's original stories and oversees the Night Journal. The journal separates creative reflection from evidence-based sleep information and links to sources when health or wellbeing claims are discussed.
How an episode is made
Written as a story. Built as a place.
Rob writes the stories, then works with a voice artist to give each one its unhurried spoken form. Music and sourced environmental recordings—rain, wind, rivers, wildlife or deep atmospheric sound—are layered around the narration to make each world feel present without demanding attention.
The result is entertainment and a wind-down ritual, not a clinical sleep treatment. Rob has experienced the same range many listeners know: easy nights, restless nights and periods when stress makes quiet difficult. Lumi is his invitation to end the day with a different kind of thought.
